34th Annual Cranston Greek Festival

The 34th annual Cranston Greek Festival is on for this weekend on Oaklawn Avenue at the Greek Orthodox Church. The festival will be open Friday Sept 6th (5pm – 10pm) Saturday, Sept 7th, noon to 10pm, and Sunday Sept 8th, noon to 9pm. Rain or shine. Admission is free. With some rain expected, the festival website says “We continue cooking and serving you wonderful Greek food regardless of the weather…our serving and seating areas are under the big tents to keep you dry. Or, swing by and pick up your favorite Greek foods and pastries as "Take Out".

There will be Greek dancing performances all three days and several Greek bands will be playing live traditional Greek music; line dancing is open to all. The Odyssey Dance Troupe will be performing dances from Mainland Greece and the Greek Islands Friday at 7 p.m, Saturday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.


There will also be 30-minute church tours of the sanctuary, with an opportunity to learn more about the Greek Orthodox Church given on Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 1, 3, 5 and 8pm, and Sunday at 1, 3 and 5pm.


For children there is face painting, and a bouncy house.


Payments using VISA and Mastercard are accepted at the main food tent area, pastry tent and bar. The Greek Coffee House and Children’s Area is cash only.  


Parking is on-street on all roads surrounding the church. Additional FREE parking is available at the Cranston West High School parking lot. Shuttles run to the festival and back to the Cranston West High School parking lot Friday from 5-10pm, Saturday from noon to 10pm, and Sunday, from noon to 9pm. The shuttle bus stop is at the corner of Curtis Street and Metropolitan Avenue on the edge of the Cranston West High School parking lot. You will see a large sign indicating the location of the shuttle bus stop. The shuttle DOES NOT pickup/drop-off from in front of the main Cranston West High School building. Handicap parking is available on the church grounds.
