From $3 million - to $21 million - it's a gem

Pedestrian Bridge Ribbon Cutting, 10:30am

Yes, folks, it’s “done” - and the ribbon will be cut TODAY, Friday, August 9th, at 10:30am.  The ceremonies will be followed by something more lavish, it is expected, in September.

The event has been moved from the east side to the west end of the bridge, with access from Dyer Street. There will be on-street parking, and the site is only a few minutes’ walk from the South Street Landing parking garage on Dyer Street, across from the Brown Medical School.

Tim Empkie has been documenting the construction for many months - find him on Facebook to enjoy more photos of this process. This bridge was estimated to cost $3million - final cost? Over $21 million. But it surely will become an integral part of downtown Providence.
