A 28-year-old North Providence man was stabbed to death after a fight broke out at the Club Seven on Spruce Street early Sunday morning. Police reported that an estimated six to eight people were beating and stabbing the victim, who later died at the hospital.

An emergency meeting of the Providence Board of Licenses was held on Sunday, and it was ordered that Club Seven be temporarily closed. This is the Providence’s 7th homicide this year. If anyone has any information, the police are asking people to call the Providence Police Department, Detectives Division.
Just last month two people were shot, who had ties to an East Side and one other gang, while on the sidewalk outside Club Seven. The club was shut down, but then allowed to reopen with increased police detail and private security. The club opened less than a year ago on the site of the former Smoke Lounge.
The victim is identified as Stephen Cabral Andrade, father of 3, of North Providence. A GoFundMe account has been established by his sister/family for burial expenses.
