The Environmental Protection Agency has announced a $200,000 grant to the state of Rhode Island to protect the beaches in the Ocean State.  The announcement was made in Middletown Friday with EPA New England acting regional director, Deb Szaro, Senator Jack Reed, Rhode Island DEM, and the RI Health Department.

Senator Reed commented on Twitter, “Glad I could join @RhodeIslandDEM @RIHEALTH & others to announce $200K @EPA grant to help clean up RI beaches. A big thank you to everyone who works to keep our coastline clean & beautiful!

 

The grant comes just in time as the summer months are here and clean beaches are a must in our beautiful state.
