Tour Season Opens at Casey Farm on June 1st

Historic New England’s Casey Farm at 2325 Boston Neck Road (Route 1A) in Saunderstown, RI invites everyone to the annual Opening Day on Saturday, June 1. Guided tours, free for everyone on Opening Day, are offered on the hour at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00. Find the tour guide at the entrance to the Coastal Growers’ Market at Casey Farm. This farmers market is open from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm every Saturday through the end of October.

For the remainder of the tour season which ends on October 15, regular tours on the hour will take place every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1:00 - 5:00 (last tour at 4:00) and every Saturday from 9:00 - 2:00 (last tour at 1:00). Admission fees are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for students and children, and free for children under 5. Tours are always free for Historic New England members, residents of North Kingstown, Blue Star families (active military), and RI Summer Reading Program participants.

Opening Day at Casey Farm is one of thirty-five open houses at Historic New England properties in five states that are free and open to the public on June 1 for the official beginning of our tour season.  Ten minutes away across the Jamestown Bridge, Watson Farm at 455 North Road in Jamestown will offer free tours and family activities during its annual Kite Flying Day.  Two seventeenth-century houses in Northern Rhode Island begin their tour seasons with a free open house on June 1 as well. Arnold House at 487 Great Road in Lincoln is open from 11:00 to 5:00, and Clemence-Irons House at 38 George Waterman Road in Lincoln is open from noon to 4:00.

After June 1, tours will be offered at all four Rhode Island properties through October 15 during our regular open hours:  Casey Farm is open for tours on the hour Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00, and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 1:00. Watson Farm is open for self-guided walking tours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00. Arnold House is open each Saturday and Sunday with tours on the hour from 11:00 to 4:00. Clemence-Irons House is open each Saturday with tours on the hour from noon to 3:00. A fee is charged for regular tours, but they are always free for members of Historic New England.
